Description
What is Fusidic Acid 2% Cream?
Fusidic Acid 2% Cream is a topical antibiotic used to treat bacterial skin infections. It is especially effective against Staphylococcus aureus (including some MRSA strains) and is commonly prescribed for impetigo, infected eczema, and infected cuts or grazes.
The cream works by stopping bacteria from growing and multiplying, allowing the body’s immune system to clear the infection more effectively. It does not treat fungal or viral skin infections and should be used only under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
This treatment is ideal for short-term use and targeted treatment of localised skin infections. It is generally applied 2 to 3 times daily, depending on the severity and doctor’s instructions. The cream formulation makes it easy to spread and absorb into the skin.
Fusidic Acid Cream is often chosen for its narrow-spectrum activity and low resistance profile when used correctly. It may sometimes be used in combination with corticosteroids for infected inflammatory skin conditions.
