Directions

  • Dosage: Take one 100mg capsule twice daily (every 12 hours) for the duration prescribed by your doctor, typically 3 to 7 days.

  • Administration: Swallow capsules whole with water. Take with food or milk to enhance absorption and minimize stomach upset.

  • Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

  • Macrobid does not interfere with the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives. However, if you experience vomiting or diarrhea while on Macrobid, additional contraceptive measures may be necessary.
  • Macrobid should be taken with food or milk to enhance absorption and reduce stomach upset. While moderate alcohol consumption doesn't directly interfere with Macrobid, it's advisable to limit alcohol intake to allow your body to recover from the infection.
